Rafting
Why go rafting with Skok Sport?
Because rafting with Skok Sport is different! It combines sports activities with a lot of fun on the water and it’s an incredible way to recharge your batteries.
Rafting in Ljubljana – rafting for everybody

The outing is not difficult and it is conducted in complete safety. It is suitable for all generations, even for the youngest participants accompanied by parents.
Rafting on the Sava river in Ljubljana is whitewater rafting level II–III, meaning that rapids are present, but there is no danger. It’s appropriate for almost everybody, even for the youngest and older participants. Rafting usually takes place in rafts for 8–10 persons and it is steered by a professional rafting guide. More adventurous guests can rent take rafts suitable for 2–3 persons. They steer them alone. However, they are accompanied by a professional guide in a kayak. After a short briefing on paddling & safety, the adventure on water begins. The rafting lasts for approx. 90 minutes.
Cycling & rafting round trip
The round trip begins with easy cycling on side roads, tracks and forest paths along the Sava river. Then we cross the river over a narrow hanging bridge, make a stop at a spring of warm water and enjoy the panorama of the surrounding mountains. The cycling part of the trip finishes after about 45 minutes in Medvode – the rafting starting point.
In Medvode, bikes and cycling equipment are exchanged for rafting equipment. Rafting is not the only exciting activity – we can always have a lot of fun on water with splashing, bumping, jumping in water etc.
The cycling & rafting round trip lasts for 2,5–3 hours.
Sava River Kayaking
Sit-on-top kayaks are convenient also for those who have never tried kayaking before. They are very stable and easy to use, which is why they are an excellent choice for people of all ages. They have several advantages over classic whitewater kayaks. Sit-on-top kayaks don’t have an enclosed deck, which is why they are easier to enter and exit. There is no need for a spraydeck when paddling because the surplus of water flows out through the holes in the lowest section of the kayak. It is also very safe; if it capsizes, you can simply flip it back and climb it again. Lake and sea kayaking in good weather conditions requires no experience or prior knowledge of paddling. However, if you go whitewater kayaking, you have to be accompanied by a kayak instructor or complete a beginner’s kayak course.

Kayaking on the Sava river
This type of adventure is intended for people without prior knowledge of paddling in a classic kayak and for those who crave more adrenaline and fun on the river. Following short instructions, you will paddle your way through the easy rapids with a kayak instructor by your side. You can either choose a single kayak or a larger tandem sit-on-top kayak, which is also more stable. Moreover, a tandem sit-on-top kayak has an additional centre seat for a child.

Kayak courses
Kayak courses are taught by Janez Skok, a long-standing member of the Slovene national team in whitewater kayak slalom, participant in the Summer Olympics in Barcelona, medal-winning champion at world cups and championships, and coach of the Slovene national kayak team. For the past 20 years, his profound knowledge of and love for the sport has been imparted to anyone interested in kayaking. All of the courses we offer are adapted to recreational activities!

Beginner’s kayak course
The beginner’s kayak course is taught on the Sava river in Ljubljana. The kayak instructor will introduce you to the basics of safe paddling in calm and not so rough waters. You will get to know the basic paddling equipment, on-water safety, how to enter the kayak and how to hold the paddles properly. You will learn some of the basic paddle movements to navigate your kayak. On the last day of the course, you can put your knowledge to the test during a pleasant trip on the river. Note that the beginner’s kayak course can be completed in three days, but it is more intensive.
Advanced kayak course
This course is intended for advanced learners trying to improve and expand their knowledge. We focus on more demanding paddling techniques, sliding of the kayak, a correct and more precise entry into the current and counter-current, and tilting the kayak. With the new skills you will be able to use the current of the river to your advantage more smoothly and effectively. Paddling will also become easier and you will be able to handle more demanding conditions.
Individual kayak course
Individual kayak courses are adapted to your wishes, time and prior knowledge. During the course, your instructor will teach you the paddling basics, help improve or refresh your knowledge and learn the Eskimo roll.
Full equipment is provided: kayak, padle, spraydeck, life jacket, helmet, wetsuit, wetshoes, anorack
You need your own: swimming suit and a t-shirt to wear under the wetsuit. A towel might be useful as well.
