On sunny days, the terrace of the Restavracija Most – Restaurant Most in Ljubljana is so pleasantly set against the sun that it invites you to visit, and the menu is also suitable for every taste. They serve meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes. For a warm appetizer, beetroot soup arrived on the table, the distinct earthy and slightly spicy taste of which was softened by the freshness of a lump of goat cheese resting in it. It was perfectly complemented by sweet beetroot chips. The hearty soup did not tire us with its satiety, so we looked forward to continuing. The calamarata pasta for the main course was made in the shape of rings like squid, and a ragout of torn beef ribs was poured over it, so they were juicy and the meat was soft as fluff. The sauce also included Brussels sprouts, cut into halves, leeks and pieces of carrots, which added a nice variety to the dish. From a distance, it resembled goulash, only it was much more varied and light. Did we manage dessert? Of course not! Warm apple strudel is served with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream, apples and cinnamon are always a divine combination, which finally convinced us that Most tries to please its guests. Special mention should be made of the wait staff, who know their job, whether it’s food or wine, they always know how to advise. And it’s nice when you’re served by a familiar face who remembers what you like. Or, more importantly – what you don’t like.
