Gault&Millau’s Point Of View for Restaurant Slovenska Hisa

Slovenska hiša offers boards sporting a variety of produce of Slovenian organic farms: Karst prosciutto, Prlekija tünka, Upper Savinja pork stomach, cheese, homemade or venison salami and so much more. The restaurant’s breakfast can be a nostalgic bowl of milk rice pudding with a creamy mixed berry topping, or “mountain” sunny side up eggs with homemade cracklings, grated cheese and fresh herbs. All the drinks are of Slovenian origin, be it spirits that include grape brandy, vodka and whisky, viljamovka, pelinkovec, sadjevec, hojevec and hazelnut brandy, or liqueurs. You can order several types of Slovenian beer, while the wines are, as specially pointed out, made from Slovenian indigenous varieties and from other varieties that have changed over the centuries, to differentiate themselves from the original variety.
