At the crossroads of culture, art and urbanity, surrounded by Ljubljana’s monumental neo-Renaissance palaces, on the way to Tivoli Park and nestled in a beautiful garden, the new P.E.N. KLUB restaurant creates a unique and unforgettable culinary experience.

CHEF Mojmir Marko Šiftar

Chef Mojmir Marko Šiftar, former captain of the youth culinary team and semi-finalist of the prestigious S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 competition, who was declared the best young talent of 2019 by the Gault & Millau culinary guide, is also the recipient of the Michelin Bib Gourmand award.

MICHELIN Guide’s Point of view for Pen Klub Restaurant in Ljubljana

Head up to the first floor to this retro-style restaurant, where you pass a welcoming lounge bar before moving into the main dining room adorned with an attractive fresco. The current managers and chef have brought the restaurant back into vogue thanks to a menu which includes some of the restaurant’s historic dishes (such as foie gras) alongside new meat and fish (both salt- and freshwater) dishes, such as the excellent trout marinated with oil and lemon and served with a dried egg yolk and green tea gel. The tiny summer terrace has just a few tables (book in advance), while the wine list features a selection of mainly regional labels.
