One of the most beautiful walking and cycling trails in Italy!

Along this path – on foot or by bike – you will be able to admire beautiful panoramic views of the city Trieste, the Gulf of Trieste, Muggia and Slovenia. The name Napoleonic refers to a legend which claims that it was Napoleon’s troops who inaugurated the walk.

There are five kilometers that connect Opicina to Prosecco, and which you can travel on foot or by bike, surrounded by greenery and nature.

The Strada Napoleonica is an itinerary of approximately 4 km that connects the Borgo San Nazario (Prosecco) car park to the Opicina Obelisk, traveling along the karst edge with stupendous views. Its official name is Strada Vicentina, from the name of the engineer (Giacomo Vicentini) who designed the route and began construction in 1821.
