Lake Bohinj – Vogel Cable Car
Vogel is one of the most beautiful and popular ski resorts in the winter, and the most popular high mountain center in other seasons.
Our slogan “Vogel. Like a Fairy Tale.” is the perfect description of our resort in every season of the year, and we plan to increase our profile with it and give our visitors this fairy-tale feeling. We are determined to seize the opportunities offered by our location in the heart of the Triglav National Park (TNP). Vogel cable car takes you to 1535 meters above sea level throughout the year (except during the maintenance periods). In this way viewpoints high in the mountains are easily accessible and also make an excellent starting point for hikers.
You can choose from single or return cable car tickets. The cable car can transfer up to 950 people per hour. The Orlove glave quad chairlift also operates during the summer season (mid-June to end of September) and provides a single or a return ride in the pleasantly refreshing summer climate. It stops at the top of Orlove glave with a paragliding take-off point close by.

High mountain hiking archeological trail
The Vogel high-altitude archaeological hiking trail includes twelve information boards giving details of the rich alpine flora and fauna, the history of the ski resort, and two archaeological sites of early herder and mining settlements on the Vogel. These boards are supplemented by short animations and, at the Dolga planja archaeological site, a digital reconstruction of the past too.
The Vogel is one of the most extensive alpine pastures in the eastern Julian Alps, first inhabited some 5000 years ago. Located in the Lower Bohinj mountains, it consists of Prvi Vogel and Zadnji Vogel and stretches from the peak of Konjski vrh over the Vogel and Šija mountains to the ridge above the Suha alpine pasture.

Bike Park
NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS!
The cycling track is located in the area of the “Orlove glave” chairlift. The length of the trail is approximately 1.5 km with an elevation difference of 155 m. The track is fully covered with sand and is designed to be suitable even for less experienced cyclists, as it does not contain technically demanding elements.
However, due to the challenging alpine terrain, it is recommended to have basic knowledge of mountain biking before using the track.
The bike park is ideal for the more adrenaline-fuelled individual, as well as for families with slightly older children who are already very competent on a bike.
You can reach Orlove Glave by bike, or by taking the Orlove Glave chairlift. Before the descent, you can grab a bite to eat at the Orlove glave mountain hut.
Disc Golf Vogel
The DiscGolfPark Vogel course is intended for everyone who wants to learn the game of disc golf and spend their time actively in nature. It’s a game similar to golf, but instead of a club and a ball, you throw a disc (frisbee). At the end of the course, there is a metal basket (similar to a hole in golf) into which you must throw a disc to finish the course. The winner of the round is the one who takes the fewest throws for all the courses combined.
Restaurants
Restaurant Viharnik
Panoramic restaurants are located at the upper station of the cable car. They offer a wonderful view of the Julian Alps with Triglav and the entire Bohinj valley with Lake Bohinj. From the outdoor terrace, you can enjoy a view of the white scenery of the ski slopes in winter and the green scenery in summer.
At 1535 meters, the friendly staff in the restaurant will serve you excellent food and refreshing drinks. The restaurants offer their specialties all year round and are also suitable for hosting large groups, for which prior reservation is mandatory.

Merjasec Hut
At an altitude of 1535 meters stands a charmingly arranged mountain lodge, only 100 meters from the upper station of the cable car. It is named after the trophy of Merjasec, which adorns the interior of the pleasant rustic ambience.
The menu features delicious and well-known house specialities such as Merjasec’s goulash with polenta made from Bohinj maize “trdinka”, which is certified Bohinjsko/from Bohinj, as well as other selected dishes of local origin and high quality.
In front of the lodge, there is a larger viewing platform where you can rest and breathe in fresh air.
Orlove glave Hut
The four-seater Orlove Glave chairlift will take you to the small restaurant with a spacious sunny terrace, as it is located right next to it. It is open both in the winter and summer season.
You will be delighted by the House “ričet” and House strudel Orlove glave, awarded with the Bohinjsko/from Bohinj certificate, as well as other local delicacies.
The small restaurant is open during the day.

Planinski dom Savica
Truly at the end of the world, only 4 km from the lower station of the cable car, on the way to the mighty Savica waterfall, you can enjoy the hospitality of the staff at Planinski dom Savica in a pleasant restaurant or on a spacious terrace. In the summer, it serves as a refuge for cyclists, hikers, and day tourists.
