Detailed description

Short and a bit different tour on the Slovenian Coast. The starting point is at the most beautiful sightseeing point on the Slovenian Coast and continues to the Strunjan Landscape park along Dobrava to the former small island. The church of St. Maver at the highest point of Izola’s hill gives the island its unique shape. After a short stop and cycling along Paranzana track, the return to the starting point follows. Here we will sum up all the impressions of this tour with a glass of wine and delicious local food. This tour is described in detail below. See you at the point of many views.

  • The tour presentation: participants get basic information about the tour – which sights will be seen and how the whole tour will look like. You will be acquainted with the rules of riding an eBike in a line, on the main road and on the cycling tracks.
  • eBike instructions: include basic information about what an eBike is and how does it work; on which things a cyclist has to pay attention when riding an eBike and the test ride.
  • Very important: the ability to ride a bike is necessary.
  • Beli Križ-Pacug: a road with spectacular views to Italy and Strunjan follows after the presentation and instructions.
  • The Strunjan Landscape park: going downhill from Beli Križ, the road ends in Strunjan salt pans and it continues past Strunjan’s beach and the only Slovenian Sea Lagoon Stjuža. Then past the church of Marian apparition and uphill to the Strunjan’s Cross.
  • The Strunjan’s Cross: here one receives a lot of energy for the rest of the tour by the inspiring panoramic point with the view on the Moon Bay.
  • Dobrava: eBiking at the top of Strunjan’s peninsula and its beautiful views on Strunjan’s Bay and further to the Coast and Strunjan valley with Italy and the Alps in the background. Then the road takes you to Izola across the village Jagodje.
  • Izola- a town with a smile: coming to the church of St. Maver through Jagodje and a new part of Izola past squares, coast and narrow picturesque streets. The church’s soul represents a fishing town well-known after the production of wine and olive oil. This makes Izola different from the other neighboring coastal towns. The town will serve you with a small….
  • …Surprise.
  • Parenzana: after a short stop, the road joins the Paranzana cycling track and through the tunnel amid the Mediterranean gardens to the valley of Strunjan.
  • Wine tasting: the road through Pacuga and Beli Križ will bring you back to the starting point. The final touch of this tour will definitely be the thinly sliced Carst ham, cheese cut on cubes, olives and local wines Refošk and Malvazija.
  • After the final part of the Strunjan & Izola tour, we invite you to have a rest and enjoy in the greenery of our large Mediterranean garden.
