The story of Gostilna Danilo Skofja Loka – Restaurant and Wine is the story of a restaurant with a long family tradition, which is today, more than successfully, continued by sister Nina and brother Gašper, the third generation of the family. Nina and Gašper took over the restaurant in 2016 and renovated it in a more modern style, while preserving the soul and essence of the old inn. The new Danilo maintains the tradition of home cooking based on local ingredients, but at the same time delivers creativity and new tastes.

Gostilna Danilo Skofja Loka – Restaurant and Wine menu is based on local ingredients and traditional recipes. Loška mešta, Loška smojka and Loška medla are traditional dishes prepared with a touch of modernism. The famous recipes of our grandmothers have been masterfully transformed and upgraded by the Chef Vesna Čarmans’ vision. Today, our kitchen is strongly connected to the environment and local seasonal ingredients.

Gostilna Danilo Skofja Loka – Restaurant and Wine is run by the third generation of the Čarman family (opened by grandfather Danilo), this restaurant continues to offer cuisine that is much appreciated by its guests, with Nina at the helm in the kitchen and her brother Gašper front of house. The menu includes traditional dishes such as Loška smojka, Loška medla and Loška mešta (old peasant recipes from Škofja Loka – hence the adjective Loška – which are based on semolina and served with turnips, pork or potatoes), as well as a few more creative options that also have a regional flavour. Although meat takes centre stage, a few fish specialities from the Adriatic also feature on the menu.
